TORs for positions to be recruited for Shelter Project Supporting Victims of Trafficking in Person  

As the common house of not only the Vietnamese but also international women, Center for Women and Development (CWD) annually work in cooperation with domestic and international organizations and agencies to celebrate the anniversary of the International Women’s Day March 8^th . Giving a voice to the effort in combating domestic violence, protecting living and legitimate needs of women and children , the celebration for the Anniversary of the International Women’s Day 08/3 this year is about domestic violence prevention and intervention . There were different activities in the anniversary: thematic speaking about Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention, Exhibition of the women entrepreneurs’ products, drawing contest for children “Dream of a Happy Family”, Culinary Exchange, games and so on.

On 4th December 2008, at the introduction of the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC) in Vietnam, the Center for Women and Development (CWD) received a delegation of Mongolian women.

For security and wellbeing of CWD customers and staff as well their assets, CWD Board of Director has given special attention to fire protection, including  training and practice for its staff. On 8^th December 2008, the regular fire protection training and practice was held under the direct guidance of the Board of Director and fire protection police, Hanoi Police.

Women continue to suffer domestic violence in silence. Too many women in this modern society still tolerate it.

Women and Development Centre director Le Thi Thuy adds: "We have to tell women that they must speak out against violence."
